Construction underway at Abbeywood Green

And we’re off!

Abbeywood Green is offically underway on Brisbane’s northside – set to deliver much-needed housing in one of the city’s fastest-growing corridors.

A sod-turning ceremony marked the start of construction on our boutique housing community in Taigum, made possible with support from the Queensland Government’s Infill Infrastructure Development Fund (IIDF).

The project is being delivered in partnership with Metricon, and will transform an underutilised parcel of land at 159–169 Roghan Road into a thriving new residential neighbourhood.

Rebecca Young MP, Assistant Minister for Planning, Housing and Better Regulation and Assistant Minister to the Deputy Premier, joined Chapter Two directors Jon Quayle and Oliver Bagheri as well as key project partners on site, to turn the first sod and acknowledge the project’s contribution to increasing housing supply in established areas.

Mr Bagheri said given the current housing shortage in Southeast Queensland, he was delighted to break ground.

Abbeywood Green marks the sixth infill land subdivision we’ve delivered in the past five years, and we’re incredibly proud to continue unlocking new housing opportunities across prime locations in Greater Brisbane,” he said.

“With demand for housing at record highs, this is about delivering real solutions in real time rather than years down the track. These are shovel-ready lots in a location that ticks all the boxes for liveability, lifestyle and long-term value.

“Sod-turning days are always special, but this one feels particularly meaningful given the current housing shortage and the State Government’s support through the Incentivising Infill Development Fund.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Metricon to deliver an exclusive neighbourhood on Brisbane’s northside. Together, we’re offering buyers a rare opportunity to secure land and build a premium new home in a well-connected, established suburb.”

Abbeywood Green is designed to suit a range of buyers, including new home upgraders, young families and downsizers.

Lot sizes range from 300 square metres to 544 square metres with prices for house and land packages starting from $856,900 for a single-storey three-bedroom home, ranging up to $1,089,000 for a two-storey, four-bedroom, two-bathroom, double garage home.

Metricon State Sales Manager Josh Darling said Abbeywood Green offered a perfect blend of convenience, natural beauty and modern living in a friendly and connected neighbourhood.

“Each Metricon home has been carefully selected to showcase style, functionality and craftsmanship with stunning contemporary facades to create a consistent and high-quality streetscape,” he said.

“The heart of this community will include a spacious green haven for childhood adventures, lazy weekends or catching up with neighbours in a relaxing outdoor setting.

“We are excited to be partnering with Chapter Two to provide much-needed new homes in a growth location that is already well supported by infrastructure and everyday services.

“What we’re seeing is that with the right partnerships and a more agile, community-focused approach to development, we can keep delivering great outcomes in areas where people really want to live.”

Taigum is a hidden gem on Brisbane’s northside with easy access to public transport and the M1, local shopping, dining, entertainment, health services, schools, playgrounds and other recreation amenities.

The IIDF has helped developers to deliver new homes faster and more affordably for buyers in infill locations by providing targeted relief for infrastructure costs.
